Assistant Chief Tom Tracy was raised in Southwest Florida since 1978. He began his career with Lee County EMS in 1994. During his employment there, he held the position of EMT, Paramedic and Flight Medic. In 1999, he was hired by Sanibel Fire Department. During his time there, he held the position of Firefighter, Engineer, and Captain. While employed during his 24-year career at Sanibel, Tom was able to obtain his 2 and 4-year degree and numerous other Fire certifications. During the last 6 years of employment at Sanibel, he has also been a member of the Upper Captiva Fire Department. His full-time career came to an end on June 27th, 2023. Tom is still a member of the Upper Captiva Fire Department on a part time basis and hold the title of Assistant Chief.
