Michael joined the Board in November of 2020. When he heard about the opportunity to serve, he felt a duty to give back to the community and to help preserve and enhance the quality of island life through a highly capable and fiscally responsible fire district. He is committed to maintaining the District’s ISO rating for the benefit of island property owners.

Michael and his wife, LA, have been married for 31+ years and have three grown sons. Although they raised their family in Maryland, they now split their time between North Captiva, the Outer Banks and Brevard, North Carolina. They have been property owners on North Captiva since 2011 and love the quiet island life.

Prior to retiring for the second time at the end of September, 2020, Michael was an owner and executive in the highway and marine construction industries. In addition, he has served on many for-profit, non-profit, industry and homeowner association boards. When not enjoying island life Michael loves to pursue his passion for mountain biking.
